Ethereum Sees Second-Largest Exchange Inflow of 2025

On August 14, Ethereum experienced its second-highest daily exchange inflow this year, with 2,594,168 ETH moving onto exchanges. This figure was surpassed only by the inflow recorded on February 3, which reached 3,264,688 ETH. Typically, such large inflows to exchanges hint at increased selling pressure, which can lead to price corrections. This most recent surge was partly driven by Ethereum Foundation wallets, which have been among the largest sellers in recent weeks.

Foundation Wallets Increase Sales Activity

The wallet address known as 0xF39d sold another 1,300 ETH, valued at $5.87 million, at a price of $4,518 around 11 hours prior to reporting. Over a three-day period, this wallet has liquidated a total of 6,194 ETH, realizing approximately $28.36 million at an average price of $4,578.

Past events suggest high inflow local tops often precede market corrections, as observed earlier in 2025. Back in February, such inflows aligned with a broader downtrend, intensifying price drops. However, recent significant inflows on July 18 (2,381,361 ETH) and August 12 (2,335,642 ETH) are occurring during a market uptrend, indicating stronger buying interest.

Large Holders Continue Accumulation

Despite a brief drop on August 13, large holder inflowswallets holding at least 0.1% of Ethereums total supplyremain robust. The seven-day trend is up 98.71%, and the 90-day increase stands at 255.27%. These figures indicate that large holders continue accumulating during market dips.

  • Between July 31 and August 1, as Ethereum's price fell from $3,781 to $3,577, large holder inflows rose from 240,190 ETH to 687,290 ETH.
  • Monthly trends show continued increases, with 725,000 ETH recorded on August 13 and a sustained level above 617,000 ETH afterward.

While exchange inflows monitor coins moving to platforms for potential sale, large holder inflows reflect accumulation by significant market players. This activity is supporting bullish momentum in the face of selling pressure.

Technical Outlook Maintains Bullish Bias

Ethereum maintains its uptrend on technical charts, with $4,480 acting as a key support zone during recent pullbacks. The next resistance sits at $4,785, corresponding to an important Fibonacci extension level. A daily close above this could set the stage for a move towards the $5,000 zone, with $5,175 identified as a potential target.

The current bull-bear power indicator continues to favor buyers, and the bullish outlook would only be invalidated by a confirmed break below the $4,480 level, alongside a rise in exchange inflows and declining 30-day large holder inflowssignals not yet observed.

While recent activity reflects increased selling into exchanges, sustained accumulation by large holders and continued technical strength underline Ethereum's resilient bullish structure.
